The National Bank Launches the First Onboarding Service Among Palestinian Banks

In line with its digitization strategy, The National Bank (TNB) has today launched an onboarding service enabling Palestinians to easily open current and savings accounts as well as free of charge ‘Financial Inclusion accounts’, remotely and securely online, anytime and anywhere.

Launching the service, TNB’s CEO Salameh Khalil said, “We are proud to be the first Palestinian bank to introduce this service to Palestine’s banking sector. The new service is part of our digital transformation strategy and we continue to lead the way in the sector by rolling out new high-tech services and solutions.”

Mr. Khalil stressed the importance of developing digital solutions and services:
“Developing digital banking services and solutions means reaching out to the largest possible number of Palestinians and making banking services accessible to all. By crossing the barriers and checkpoints to reach out to people wherever they are across the country, we are helping to grow the rates of financial inclusion in Palestine.”

“TNB has recently added the “Financial Inclusion account” to the list of accounts that can be opened through its onboarding service; the account is free of charge and was launched by the Palestine Monetary Authority (PMA). The ‘Financial Inclusion account’ is an attainable banking solution for people with low incomes, as well as online freelancers. Through our onboarding service, we are continuing the cycle that the PMA has started and are making the account accessible to a targeted segment of the community in an easy and modern way.”

“Currently, the service is limited to Palestinians living in the country, but soon Palestinians in the diaspora will be able to benefit from the service to facilitate their financial transactions with their families back home.”

To benefit from the service, new customers must activate their accounts by visiting a bank branch within 14 days of opening an account through the onboarding service, until e-signatures are approved by the legislator. To access the service, new clients can visit https://www.onboarding.tnb.ps or through TNB’s official website https://www.tnb.ps.
