Ramallah Municipality Honors The National Bank for its Role in “Adopt-a-Street” Initiative

The National Bank received a visit from a delegation representing the Ramallah Municipality at its headquarters in Ramallah, headed by Mr. Issa Qassis and several members of the Municipal Council. The ceremony honored TNB for its active role in supporting the "Adopt-a-Street" initiative. Under the initiative, TNB adopted the two streets adjacent to its headquarters in the Al-Masyoun, and committed to periodically clean, plant trees, and carry out maintenance and painting work there over a period of six months. The delegation was received by TNB CEO Mr. Salameh Khalil, along with a number of bank officials and managers.

During the meeting, Mr. Khalil noted that this initiative aligned with TNB’s strategy for sustainability and environmental conservation, emphasizing that TNB had been working diligently to integrate sustainability into its operations since 2022 and would continue to do so to ensure a better environment for current and future generations. Khalil thanked the Ramallah Municipality for its unique initiatives that engage all sectors of society, both individuals and institutions, in preserving the city.

Mr. Qassis emphasized that Ramallah faces daily challenges but continues to persevere and prosper thanks to the awareness and commitment of its people and institutions. He praised the role of TNB as an example of environmental and social responsibility, and its choice to be a partner in the "Adopt a Street" initiative, which is part of the city's vision for a healthy and green environment.

He also emphasized that protecting the environment was not a luxury, but rather a form of cultural resistance and belonging, and was as important as protecting identity and history. He added that TNB’s efforts embodied the spirit of true citizenship, calling on more institutions to follow suit and build the healthy environment that the city's residents deserve.

It is worth noting that TNB has always adopted environmental initiatives that directly contribute to environmental preservation, relying on renewable energy sources and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. It also makes sure that its employees volunteer to implement various environmental initiatives.
