The National Bank held its Ordinary General Assembly meeting, during which the Assembly unanimously approved the Bank’s audited financial statements for 2023 and 2024, in addition to selecting an external auditor. The meeting was attended by the Representative of the Companies Registrar Tareq Rabayaa, the Representative of the Palestine Monetary Authority Hamdan Al-Abd, the Representative of the Palestine Capital Market Authority Murad Jadbeh, the General Manager of the Palestine Exchange Nihad Kamal, the Partner-in-Charge at Ernst & Young Saed Abdullah, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of The National Bank Samir Zraiq, the Vice Chairman Omar Al-Masri, Board Members Kamal Abu Khadijeh, Ayoub Zaarab, Dina Al-Masri, Manal Zraiq, the Chief Executive Officer Salameh Khalil, the Bank’s Legal Counsel Mr. Mousa Al-Kurdi, in addition to a number of shareholders. The meeting achieved a quorum of 91.19%.

In his remarks, Chairman Samir Zraiq affirmed that the past two years were characterized by steadiness and resilience due to political challenges in Palestine following the war on Gaza and its repercussions on the economic situation. This affected the financial performance of companies and prompted the Bank to adopt prudential measures commensurate with emerging challenges. He noted that the Bank maintained some of the best financial soundness ratios in the Palestinian banking sector, foremost among them the capital adequacy ratio, which exceeded both local and international requirements.

Zraiq added that during this period, the Bank strengthened the foundations of corporate governance by establishing and updating policies, charters, and procedures that were approved and implemented, including the Conflict of Interest Policy, the Disclosure and Transparency Policy, and other policies, in implementation of the outcomes of the governance project adopted by the Bank.

During the meeting, the General Assembly unanimously approved the Bank’s audited financial statements for 2023 and 2024, after hearing the report of the external auditor. The General Assembly also approved the election of Ernst & Young as the external auditor through the end of 2025.
